Blue Capensis - Water Lilies

Nymphaea “Blue Capensis” Day blooming non-viviparous. Will over winter in zones 9 to 11. Plant size is Medium. Flower is blue star shaped, 4” to 8” across. Leaves are straight green with jagged edges 6“ to 10“ across. Has a 2.5’ to 4’ spread. Best to grow in 6” to 18” of water. Flowers are very fragrant and stand well above the waters surface. You can grow this one in a one, two or three gallon container. Good for earthen ponds as well. This one will drop hundreds of seedlings every year. You have to baby them to survive though, but one plant has the potential of making 50 offspring in one year. Will tolerate shade especially in hotter climates. Best to grow in full sun.
